Hajimari Mid Length Surfboard

Hajimari, Japanese for “the beginning,” is my most user friendly performance mid length surfboard. Designed to do it all, this board delivers glide, control, and versatility across an incredibly wide range of surf conditions.

The Hajimari has evolved from my very first board shaped in the 90s and has been refined through years of development into the model it is today.

Design and Performance

The Hajimari combines accessibility with performance in a balanced mid length design.

Key design features include:

• Fuller front outline for easy paddling
• Pulled in squash tail for responsiveness
• Wide point forward of center for stability
• Medium entry rocker with moderate exit rocker
• Rolled deck with refined medium rails

The result is a board that is stable, forgiving, and capable of handling a huge range of waves.

Bottom Contours

The Hajimari features a unique bottom design.

• Chined bottom entry
• Slight single concave up front
• Deeper concave through the middle
• Blending into spiral vee through the tail

This contour combination provides speed, control, and smooth rail transitions.
